Roads will be laid using discarded materials

Rajamahendravaram: With an aim to be pollution free the administration is planning to lay 10 plastic roads in Kakinada 'Smart City'.

East Godavari district collector H Arun Kumar said plastic roads will be laid with used and discarded carry bags, disposable glasses and other plastic articles which are shredded.

The Collector said such system of laying roads was introduced in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and now East Godavari district administration will introduce it in Kakinada city

"It will save 10 percent of bitumen and bring down the expenditure as well," said Kumar.
