Kadapa DCCB polls postponed to Feb 28 - Sakshi Post

 


In view of security reasons, the Kadapa DCCB election, scheduled to be held on Thursday, were postponed to February 28.

A decision to this effect was taken by the Government in view of security reasons, said District Collector Kona Sasidhar.

The DCCB poll scenario in YSR Kadapa district was changing dramatically reason is said to be stiff competition between the ruling Congress party and the YSRCP. When all was set for the election on Wednesday, Election Officer (EO) Chandrasekhar was allegedly abducted by some miscreants from his office. The activists of YSRCP lodged protest and organised a demonstration demanding immediate holding of elections on Wednesday.

Tempers ran high at the DCCB premises when Kamalapuram MLA Veera Siva Reddy entered the scene challenging at the YSRCP leaders. Later, EO Chandrasekhar was freed and he came to Kadapa on Wednesday evening. In the mean time, the District Collector appointed another EO to hold the election on Thursday. But again it was postponed on the ground of security reasons.
