JNTU-H to introduce course in Cyber Security
Hyderabad: Keeping abreast with the latest advancements in technology and to improve academic standards, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) is going to introduce a course in cyber security in 30 colleges under its purview.
N Yadaiah, JNTU Registrar, said that the course would begin from next semester. Another course in associate analytics which is the broader area of cyber security will also be introduced, he said.
As it is a new domain for the faculty members, they have received training from the industry experts. Top companies like Wipro and TCS have given training to at least 55 teachers.
Sundeep Kumar Makthala, President of Telangana IT Association (TITA) applauded JNTU for coming up with a course which has good demand and holds a good job prospects. He said that in times where everything is getting digitised and people are saving their data in system, it is important to have security. Only a few trained professional are available in cyber security in the country.
Similar courses are offered at IIIT Hyderabad and C.R.Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics Statistics and Computer Science offers a course in 'Practical Cryptology' which is an advanced area in cyber security providing in-depth knowledge on cryptographic software.
