Jesus' Sacrificial Crucifixion Commemorated on Good Friday

Hyderabad: Christians participated in special prayer services at various churches in the city on Good Friday.
Commemorating the sacrifice of Jesus Christ by giving himself for crucifixion on the cross of Calvary some 2000 years ago, Christians observed fast till afternoon. Christ's crucifixion was reenacted at various churches.
Special prayer meetings were held at St Mary's at Shivaji Nagar and Wesley in Secunderabad in the morning. Some churches began the observance on Thursday evening. The special events continued throughout the day. A 'passion play' tableau was held at Saint Joseph's Cathedral.
Nizamabad MP K Kavitha will flag off 'Run for Jesus' on Saturday at 6 am at Lal Bahadur Stadium. This is the sixth annual run being held in the city as a commemorative event between Good Friday and Easter.
The Christian community in Kerala took out mourning processions of Jesus crucifixion. In Cities like Mumbai and Delhi even non-Christians also took part in the Holy week ceremonies.
In Vatican city, Pope Francis would preside over the Good Friday Commemoration.
