Jayalalithaa Speaks

Chennai: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa is responding to treatment and is speaking, Apollo Hospital authorities said here on Friday.

In the first health bulletin released by the hospital, in ten days, they said there is gradual improvement in her health condition. However, she will require several more days of hospitalisation, they said and added that specialists from AIIMS (New Delhi) are continuously monitoring her condition.

Meanwhile, senior AIADMK party leaders had earlier stated that the chief minister is able to sit up and that she will be discharged from the hospital soon. Since her hospitalisation on September 22, party workers and her fans have been conducting special prayers throughout Tamil Nadu for her speedy recovery. Also, ardent followers of the CM have been camping outside the hospital wishing for her recovery.
