Jayalalithaa Is Recovering, Says Rahul 

Though the Congress leader couldn’t meet Jayalalithaa, he reportedly enquired about the treatment being administered to the Tamil Nadu CM - Sakshi Post

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai where Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment.

Though the Congress leader couldn’t meet Jayalalithaa, he reportedly enquired about the treatment being administered to the Tamil Nadu CM. TNCC(I) president S. Thirunavukkarasar acccompanied Gandhi.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Gandhi said he visited the hospital to extend his support to the Chief Minister, "I came to extend my support to Ms. Jayalalithaa. ..She is on the road to recovery", Gandhi said.

Gandhi was at the hospital for over 30 minutes and enquired about the AIADMK leader's health.

The Congress leader is the first national leader to visit the 68-year-old Jayalalithaa, who was brought to the Apollo Hospital on September 22.

Earlier, Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and Tamil Nadu Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao visited the hospital.

The Chief Minister was admitted to the hospital on September 22 for fever and dehydration.
