Jayalalithaa enraged over tattooing of her image on her birthday
Chennai: Excessive show of loyalty to the supreme leader proved costly for some AIADMK leaders in Tamil Nadu.Leaders of Teni district, who organised tattooing of chief minister Jayalalithaa's image on the chests of 668 persons on Wednesday, have now been sacked by Jayalalithaa.
She was angry after this act was lampooned by political rivals and criticised in the media. Also, some leaders made sarcastic comments when former chief minister Panneerselvam avoided being tatooed. These comments also drew Amma's ire.
As a result, MLA Ashok has been divested of his party post, while Teni district leader Ramesh has been sacked for his comments against Panneerselvam. Two more party leaders also have been removed from their party positions.
