Jaitley inaugurates Symbiosis’ Hyderabad campus

Hyderabad: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday inaugurated Symbiosis International University’s (SIU) Hyderabad campus. The campus spread over 40 acres of land has come up at Mamidpally village in Mahabubnagar district, and is the fourth off campus centre for SIU, which is headquartered in Pune. The university already has off campus centres in Nashik, Noida and Bengaluru.

Jaitley said it was great step by Symbiosis to set up an educational institute near IT hub Hyderabad.

The 6 lakh square feet campus houses academic buildings, library, hostels for students, residential facilities for teaching and non-teaching staff, auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,000, recreation and wellness centre and sports facilities. It has two institutes - Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) offering the MBA, and BBA programmes,and Symbiosis Law School (SLS) offering the LL.B, and BA, LL.B programmes.

Jaitley said it was great step by Symbiosis to set up an educational institute near IT hub Hyderabad. As there are 45 disciplines in Pune campus, he wished the same to be implemented in SIU Hyderabad. He said it was important for institutes like Symbiosis to ensure that ones who are willing to acquire knowledge are not deprived of the opportunity. He advised the students not to settle for mediocrity and strive for excellence.

Telangana Information Technology Minister K. T. Rama Rao inaugurated the Hyderabad Chapter of Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI), which has been set up to promote entrepreneurship and foster innovation among the youth. SIU Chancellor S.B. Mujumdar said India must come up with more institutes imparting quality education that would instill a bright future among young Indians.
