'Jagan kosam Janam Santakam’ gets overwhelming response
The signature campaign to protest against the unlawful arrest of YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called ‘Janam Santakam', received overwhelming response from people of all walks of life.
Professionals, students, women and business people showed their support by signing the document.
The campaign was launched in Ongole and Guntur districts on Wednesday.
The campaign got an amazing response from the elderly, youth and women. Politicians and leaders from several other parties too appended their signatures to the petition.
Frustrated with the Jagan’s illegal arrest, his followers and fans launched the signature campaign to collect one crore signatures and would send the same to President of India Pranabh Mukharjee.
The campaign was launched on December 21,2012 and was conducted in several districts. The campaign’s website page “www.jagankosamjanamsanthakam.com" and the facebook campaign have seen utmost hits and likes.
Public participating in the campaign expressed hope that YS Jagan would soon come out from jail clean. They alleged that the State and Central governments had hatched a conspiracy targeting Jagan.
Launching the campaign in Tirupati, YSR Congress Party MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said the campaign’s motive was not to bring YS Jagan from jail. The signatures show the belief of the people that Jagan had not done any wrong.
Members of the public were coming out voluntarily to participate in the campaign.
