Jagan is a great son of a great father: Punjab CM Badal
As part of his efforts to mobilize support at national level to keep Andhra Pradesh united, YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy met Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son Surjit Singh in Delhi on Friday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Badal said “I am very happy today that Reddy sahab came here to meet me and Surjit Singh. He is a great son of great father. I have just meet him for the first time but simply meeting him I felt like I was talking to Surjith. He is very affectionate and very lovely."
Badal further added that he agreed with Jagan's idea of making assembly resolution compulsory before division of any state.
"Before dividing any State the assembly resolution should be taken first. The will of the people should be reflected by the resolution and it should be adopted by a two-thirds majority. Even in Panchayats if anything is done, they have to pass resolution with two thirds majority," Badal said. So, Central government and other government should think about it, Singh added.
Jagan requested the Punjab CM to oppose the Telangana bill in the Parliament and ensure that it does not get passed by the House.
