YS Bharathi: It's death of democracy
YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's wife YS Bharathi on Tuesday alleged that they had chosen to send a leader, who stood by people's side to jail. YS Bharathi took part in the ongoing daylong deeksha at Indira Park along with YS Vijayamma.
Protesting the illegal detention of Jagan, Bharathi reminded people that it was because of Dr YSR that Congress was still enjoying a hold over the state. She said several ministers were enjoying power in the state only because of YSR's hard work. If this could happen to the family of a person who had worked for the party to gain power in the state, then what could happen to common people? "They do not want anybody to fight for people's causes. Jagan chose to defy them and do it and that's why he's in jail. As Ghulam Nabi Azad himself had said Jagan could have been made the chief minister if he had agreed to their terms."
Jagan's wife also said it was every person's right to seek bail. By keeping Jagan under arrest for this long and denied him bail, they had killed democracy. Replying to a media question, Bharathi said: "You would do the same thing if you were in my position. You too would have applied for a bail 'n' number of times. Jagan has a right to apply for bail. He belongs to the people's party."
It is injustice to keep Jagan in jail for one year without any wrongdoing. Bharathi also expressed faith in God and said that justice will be done to Jagan.
"Irrespective of the number of people and their conspiracies to keep Jagan in jail, justice will prevail," said YSRCP honorary president, YS Vijayamma earlier in the day.
Speaking to Sakshipost, she questioned how many more chargesheets the CBI was going to file against Jagan. The YSR family has suffered a lot after his demise while some people derive pleasure seeing the family in pain, she added.
Vijayamma openly questioned what credibility or values Naidu held to criticize YSR and his family? TDP's situation would not be worse if its chief had any credibility, she opined, adding, "Public can clearly understand the conspiracies hatched against Jagan by Congress and the TDP. YSRCP would certainly win the Panchayat polls."
Hundreds of women expressed solidarity with Vijayamma and YS Bharathi at the protest venue in Domalguda.
