Is This The Story of Okka Kshanam?
Even as Allu Sirish’s much awaited flick Okka Kshanam is gearing up for release next week, the controversy surrounding the movie refuses to die down. For the clueless souls, here’s the dope-rumour has it that the film is heavily inspired by the Korean flick Parallel Life. Now, the lead actor has come out in the open saying although he has seen the film, his Telugu flick has absolutely no connection with the K film. However, for all those curious to know what Korean film Parallel Life is all about, here you go...
The story revolves around Kim Seok-Hyeon, Korea’s youngest ever criminal court judge, who is known for his balanced verdicts. Kim who is in his mid-thirties, has a dream life—a beautiful wife and a daughter—and everything going for him.
Things take a shocking turn when his wife is murdered. Jang Soo-Young is seen as the prime suspect and the motive is supposed to be revenge for a judgment Kim had delivered. Meanwhile, Kim learns of the parallels between his life and that of another judge thirty years ago.
The events in the lives of both individuals have uncanny similarities—30 years ago, a judge by the name of Han Sang-Jun had also been appointed as a judge at a very young age. He too lost his wife and child in a savage murder. A reporter brings this to the notice of Kim, who learns that if the parallel lives theory holds good, Jang Su-Yeong will stage a prison break in just over two weeks and murder his daughter.
We’d better stop here, don’t you think? If there’s any parallel between the Korean movie and Okka Kshanam at all, you’d rather see the rest of the plot unravel in a theatre and figure out how it goes forward.
