Is Jai Japan, Kill Kisan your policy?: Farmers asks TDP
" Is Jai Japan, Kill Kisan your policy?" an angry farmer shot off a question that made AP Agriculture Minister Pattipati Pulla Rao squirm.
Angry farmers confronted the minister, who visited Penumaka village where selective fire mishaps targeted only those farmers who were opposing land-pooling.
The Minister, who arrived with his entourage of party workers and officials chose not to interact with the affected farmers and spoke only to a couple of persons. This made the affected farmers see the red and they began arguing with the police. They raised slogans and slammed the TDP for trying to politicise the event.
The farmers were also sore over the statement made by the ministers at Guntur on the incident. The minister had blamed YSRCP for the fire mishap. Chandrababu's media adviser Parakala Prabhakar too had indirectly raised questions about the farmers opposed to land-pooling. These have only served to add to the farmers' anger.
Raising slogans against the TDP government, they questioned the TDP minister as to why they are politicizing the incident instead of paying the compensation?. The angry farmers vehemently said the TDP leaders, who talked of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' before the elections, were now adopting 'Jai Japan, Kill Kisan'.
A visibly embarrassed Pattipati left the village unable to face the ire of the farmers.
