Irked By Poor Construction Of Secretariat, Chandrababu Pulls Up Narayana
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was totally upset over the quality of construction of the temporary secretariat at Velagapudi in which he occupied his chambers on Wednesday.
Chandrababu was so disappointed over the quality that he could not control himself from expressing anger at municipal administration minister P. Narayana and AP Capital Region Development Authority officials over the low quality of construction of his chambers at the Velagapudi temporary secretariat.
Chandrababu held a meeting with top officials including those from the transport and roads & buildings departments at his chambers.
Expressing anger at Minister Narayana and the CRDA commissioner, Chandrababu said the quality of construction was poor. He said that the arrangements inside the chamber were not good. Mr Naidu said that the contractor, L&T, had in the past constructed the D Block at the combined AP Secretariat in Hyderabad with quality material.
The construction of the first block at the Velagapudi secretariat where Mr Naidu's office is located was also given to L&T. Mr Naidu expressed the doubt that L&T might have subcontracted the construction.
Other ministers also expressed unhappiness over the construction of their chambers and refused to occupy them earlier. They moved in after the chambers were renovated. The first cabinet meeting at Velagapudi secretariat is being held on Thursday.
