IPL 2018: Watch Out For These 6 Indian Bowlers
Over the years, the Indian Premier League prepared many young players for the international stage. From Steve Smith to KL Rahul, from Shane Watson to Ravindra Jadeja, from Murali Vijay to Manish Pandey, the IPL has produced a big chunk of today’s top players across all formats. The IPL has also seen sparks of brilliance from Pravin Tambe, who in his early 40’s displayed his mettle with his economic bowling capabilities for Rajasthan Royals.
As we head to the opening match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians on Saturday, let us take a look at a few Indian bowlers, who have good chances of making a greater impact as the season progresses.

1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar is one of the best performers with the ball in the IPL, with a staggering 111 wickets from 90 matches. The swing bowler is the sixth highest wicket taker in the history of IPL. The Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack also has England bowler Chris Jordan, Rashid Khan and Shakib-al-Hasan among many others to support their lead bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The Indian bowler’s consistent performances are key to win matches for the Sunrisers, who will miss their ace player David Warner, who is facing a one year ban over the ball-tampering controversy.
2. Kuldeep Yadav
Leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who is fresh from a good performances in the recent T20 series against South Africa, where he has made life difficult for the Proteas with his Chinaman action. He will lead the Kolkata Knight Riders’ spin department this season.
3. Jaydev Unadkat
After steady performances over the years, Mumbai pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been bagged by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2018 auction for a whopping 11.5 Crores. Under his domestic companion Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy, Unadkat will look to continue his wicket taking streak in the new team.

4. Krishnappa Gowtham
This Karnataka bowler is a specialist T20 bowler, who got his break into the Ranji Trophy in 2016. He was bought for Rs 6.20 Crore by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2018 auction.
5. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has been constantly performing well for India in limited overs cricket in the past two years. This Mumbai bowler first came into limelight when he troubled seasoned batsmen with his unorthodox bowling action, playing for Mumbai Indians. The Rohit Sharma-led team retained the youngster in the auction that happened earlier this year. This season, he is heavily expected to contribute to the Mumbai Indians’ bid to win a record fourth IPL Trophy.
6. Yuzvendra Chahal
Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been vital for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, in the past few years. With captain Virat Kohli’s confidence behind him, Chahal has been a regular feature in the RCB side alondside the likes of AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle. RCB will look to grab their first IPL this season, with a fresh new squad full of experience and youth.
