Inter Student Jumps To Death In Kacheguda

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a second-year-Intermediate student committed suicide on Thursday by jumping off fifth floor from Paragon Venkatadri Appartment in Kacheguda. The deceased is a student of St. Francis College. The reason behind death is yet to be ascertained. Police officials have sent the body for post-mortem to Gandhi Hospital. Police are probing the matter and more details are awaited.

Students committing suicide is not uncommon, particularly during exam time or when the results are being announced. Although the reason in this case is not clear, students are pushed to the edge because of the mounting pressure to perform better and forced to join the rat race to get ahead of others.

Pyschologists have often warned parents against demotivating children or putting pressure on them to perform better. Depression, peer pressure, societal expectations are some of the reasons which drive students to suicides.
