Inter girl student attempts suicide

Mahabubabad: An Intermediate student attempted suicide after she was denied Hall Ticket for the annual exams.

Edla Pavani, younger daughter of Edla Ramchandru and Manjula of Sriramgiri village of Nellikuduru mandal, is doing her intermediate first year at Social Welfare College in Mahabubabad

Due to ill-health, Pavani did not attend college for many days. Following which the college refused to issue a hall ticket. She also had shortage of attendance and was not eligible to attend the annual exams though she attended her practical exams.

As the college officials refused to give her Hall Ticket for exams, a depressed Pavani attempted suicide on Wednesday at her uncle’s place at Vavilala Nellikuduru mandal of Warangal district. She was rescued in the nick of time by her uncle’s family and admitted to area hospital.

The principal of the college said that the student was not issued the Hall Ticket due to the shortage of attendance.
