Infighting In TDP To The Fore In Jammalamadugu

Kadapa: Followers of local leader Ramasubba Reddy hurled chairs and used abusive language against TDP leader and member of Parliament CM Ramesh in Jammalamadugu during a constituency-level meeting here on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, Ramasubba Reddy said, he had served the party loyally for several years and during the recent cabinet expansion he was not considered for the post of minister. “On the contrary, a turncoat Adinarayana Reddy from YSR Congress Party who joined the TDP was made a minister. The role of Ramesh in promoting Adinarayana Reddy is very evident,” he said. The statement acted as a trigger for Ramasubba Reddy followers who were overcome with emotion and started sloganeering and used abusive language against MP Ramesh. In the charged-up atmosphere, they even hurled chairs at Ramesh.

Tension and high drama prevailed at the meeting venue for sometime even as supporters of Ramasubba Reddy and CM Ramesh jostled, pushed and hurled abuses at each other. Securitymen and other TDP leaders had a tough time controlling the agitated supporters of Ramasubba Reddy.
