Infant Falls Sick After Consuming Heritage Milk

Kathipudi (East Godavari): A one-year-old infant was taken ill after he was fed packaged milk of Heritage brand. The incident occurred in Kathipudi village in Sankavaram mandal here in the district. The baby was immediately rushed to hospital where his condition is said to be normal.

According to the details, victim Rehan's father Sheik Gouse purchased two milk packets from the Heritage plant in the locality on Friday evening. One packet was stored in the fridge while the other was curdled for consumption. On Saturday morning, when Rehan's mother fed him with milk, the infant started vomiting followed by diarrhea. The parents rushed him to a nearby hospital.


Meanwhile, Gouse returned home to have lunch. When he opened to take the curdled milk stored in refrigerator, he noticed that the curd started sticking to spoon like an adhesive agent. Shocked over this, Gouse pulled up the Heritage official and explained him about the milk he had purchased from the plant. He then formally lodged a complaint with the Heritage Manager. Samples of the milk and curd were sent to laboratory for testing.
