Hyderabad: Rajesh, who severely injured his wife by violently attacking her on their wedding night in Chittoor, was tested by medical experts for impotency. He thrashed his wife Shailaja for disclosing the fact about his impotency to her parents.

After realizing that her husband was impotent, Shailaja ran out of the bedroom and shared the fact with her family over the phone. When she was forced by the in-laws to go back to their bedroom, Rajesh beat her up indiscriminately leaving her in a bad shape. His parents, instead of stopping their son from the violent attack on his bride, encouraged him to silence her.

A badly bruised Shailaja managed to call her family members to her husband's place from where she was rushed to a hospital. On a complaint lodged by the woman and her parents, the Chittoor police arrested Rajesh and his father. The state government also dismissed the accused who was working as a school teacher in Chittoor, from his job.

In the course of investigation to file a charge sheet on the accused, police sought permission from a court to conduct tests on Rajesh as concealing impotency and marrying a girl would amount to cheating under section 420 of IPC. The police shifted Rajesh to Hyderabad as per the court order.

On Saturday, a team of doctors at the AP Medical Council here conducted the tests on Rajesh to ascertain his impotency. The report issued by the medical experts will be submitted to the court.
