IMD Forecasts Heavy to Very Heavy Rains for 5 More Days

Hyderabad: India Meterorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy to very heavy rains Telangana for next five days. Dr YK Reddy, Director at IMD, Hyderabad, said heavy rains to continue in Hyderabad and the districts in Telangana for few more days. Skymet also gave an alert of heavy rains in the city for next few more days.

According to the IMD’s latest report, the well marked low pressure area over Telangana and adjoining areas south Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha persists. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

Based on the 24 hours rainfall data, the southwest monsoon vigorous over Telangana, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and active over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka.

The IMD has also alerted Konkan region, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Marthwada, Vidarbha to be cautious over heavy rains next few days.
