The ice-bucket challenge which is trending across the globe, a Hyderabadi came up with a similar idea with a desi touch and a divine intention to help the poor with ‘rice bucket challenge’.
Manju Latha, a Hyderabad based journalist came up with idea of ‘rice bucket challenge’ which went viral in social media, is also very similar to ice-bucket challenge.
The rules of the game are little different where Facebook users can nominate friends to take up the challenge.The idea of ice bucket challenge raise the awareness about ALS, a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
What all donor have to do is pour bucketful of ice water on the head, film it, and upload it on web incase if donor fail after accepting the challenge he/her donate money to the ALS Association within 24 hours.
But here in rice bucket challenge, after accepting the challenge donor have to cook or buy one bucketful of rice and feed the needy. One can also donate medicines worth Rs. 100 to the nearest government hospital.
