'I have to finalise candidates for 15 assembly seats'
“We requested Congress high command to give tickets in 2019 elections to only those candidates who had contested in this elections as the party is in deep crisis now," said TTD chairman and MP Kanumuri Bapiraju.
"Only with that intention only, the party tickets are being given to those leaders whom the activists of Congress party decide,” said Bapiraju.
Speaking to the reporters at Akiveedu in West Godavari district on Tuesday, he said that he is contesting from Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituency this time as per the directions from the party high command.
“Seemandhra PCC chief N.Raghuveera Reddy asked me to finalise the names of candidates for 15 assembly constituencies in our district,” said Bapiraju.
He said that he felt bad for the bifurcation of the state. “It is not correct to blame Congress party by mentioning the bifurcation issue as the issue was there in the election manifesto in 2009,” said Bapiraju.
He said that he would continue in Congress till the end of his life.
