As per press release by the university, the current routes covered by the two vehicles link major buildings, departments, hostels, library and the service runs between 8 am to 6 pm.

University of Hyderabad is a large campus with immense bio-diversity and is also a home a flora and fauna. Over 75 varieties of bird, lakes, large green covers and rock formations which give the campus a natural beauty.

The main aim to start the e-auto service is to preserve the natural habitat in the campus premises and to keep the pollution free, the university has taken a step towards greener campus.

However, the move has triggered anger among the student community raising a point that instead of providing free and frequent transport facilities to students, the administration has chosen to utilise the services of a private agency and put the burden of payment on the students.
