Hyderabad Police look for image makeover

Hyderabad, Over 7,000 lower-ranked personnel of Hyderabad Police would be taking part in an orientation course to make the force people-friendly and prevent crime with the participation of citizens.
The course on `Community Policing' began here today. As many as 7,144 personnel - from Constabulary to Sub Inspector rank - under Hyderabad Police Commissionerate will undergo the course over a period of time, an official release said. The main objective of the course is to inculcate in police personnel such values and norms that would motivate them to lead the force with courage, honesty, dedication and strong sense of service to the people, it said.
The programme aims at making the police personnel recognise and respect the right of every citizen, in every action while taken during discharging their official duty. It will help in forging a creative partnership between police and the people, and build a safe, secure and stable society, the release added.
