Hyderabad Metro Rail To Be Extended Upto Shamshabad Airport
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail which is being well-received by the people will is expected to be extended upto the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad.
Replying to a compliment by a Metro passenger, state IT minister KT Rama Rao tweeted that plans are afoot to extend the Metro Rail upto the airport. "Phase 2 for another 80 plus kilometres in the planning stages," he tweeted. However, priority will be given to first complete the project in the city and then extend it to the airport, he said. It may be recalled that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had mentioned several times in his speeches, that plans are underway to extend the Metro rail upto the airport.
