Hyderabad metro gets nod to proceed with work on 2 locations - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail, which is implementing a Rs 16,000-crore elevated metro rail project in the city, on Thursday said it has got a green signal from the state government to proceed with work in two of the three locations.

Earlier, it had been asked to suspend work pending decision from the government. The government has conveyed orally to go ahead with works at Sultan Bazar and Assembly areas as per the original alignment.

Talks are still on with regard to old city area, V B Gadgil, Chief Executive and Managing Director L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) said in a press conference.

The infrastructure major had earlier said they suspended work in the three locations based on a request from the state government. Meanwhile, Gadgil on Thursday inaugurated the sample retail stores and unveiled the retail development plans.

He said a typical station has retail space ranging from 2,500 sft to 9,000 sft at two different locations at a concourse level while Interchange and Special Stations have retail spaces ranging from 10,000 sft to 40,000 sft with store sizes ranging from 1,500 square feet to any maximum possible size.
