Hyderabad Man Booked For Impersonating Governor’s Son

Hyderabad: A man, who impersonated as the son of Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, has been booked for criminal intimidation for threatening a government employee to give up his claim on a plot of land in the city

The victim, an office superintendent lodged a complaint on Wednesday with Bowenpally police station stating he received a call, in which the caller introduced himself as Vivek, son of Maharashtra Governor and threatened him to mould himself and surrender the plot measuring 180–square yard to him.

“The prima facie evidence collected so far, established that the person who called the petitioner is one Sridhar Rao and he fraudulently used the name Vivek, son of Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, though there is no relation between the caller Sridhar Rao and Vivek,” a release from Hyderabad Police said.

A case was registered under IPC section 506 and appropriate legal action will be initiated against Sridhar Rao.
