Hundreds Of Dead Fish Float In Hyderabad Lake Due To Chemical Release

Hyderabad: Residents of Abdullapurmet were shocked to find hundreds of dead fish floating in Pasumamula lake on Thursday. Many fishermen were taken aback as they eke out a living from the lake. Fish wroth Rs60 lakh died due to contamination of the lake water.

A complaint was lodged by the fishermen with the Hayathnagar police. Aqua Culture Society president Sanilla Srinivas alleged the fish were dead due to the release of chemicals into the water body. Hayathnagar SI Kiran Kumar said that they received the complaint on Thursday but the chemical was mixed two days ago, adding that a case under Section 429 and 277 of the IPC was registered.
