Huge Arms Cache Seized, 2 Youths Nabbed In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A huge cache of lethal weapons including six guns and four talwars and equipment used for connecting international calls was seized from a house in Habeebnagar in Old City on Friday. Two youths who claimed to be degree students have been taken into custody by the police after searching the premises.

A police official said they were actually searching for a telephone network that was being operated for sometime about which they received complaints two months back. After a thorough inquiry, they zeroed in on a house in Habeebnagar from where the calls were being connected. When police swooped in on the premises, they were stopped by the inmates saying it was residential house of a Muslim family and a Namaz was going on inside.

After some wait, police forced entered the premises and found the arms and the telecom network equipment. Police said prima facie there did not appear any anti-social angle but going by the quantity of lethal weapons, facts may come out differently after a proper investigation. The youths are being questioned by a special team.
