How Much Loss Did Agnyaathavaasi Makers Incur?

90s saw Power star Pawan Kalyan emerge as the King of Tollywood box office. Back then, Megastar Chiranjeevi had introduced the Power star to the audiences, but over a period of time, Pawan's fan base girdled the globe. It would not be an exagerration to say that the Pawan magic is far more intense and overpowering than Chiru's had ever been.

Over the past three years, Pawan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu and Agnyaathavaasi have come a cropper at the box office, casting a big shadow on his current image.

Though Pawan's distributors of previous films had incurred huge losses, they came forward this around for Agnyaathavaasi, lured by the Pawan-Trivikram combination.

Agnyaathavaasi was released amidst great fanfare and hype on more than 1000 screens across the world. The film has shattered Pawan's previous record and has become highest grosser of premieres at the overseas box office, but failed to attract local audiences. It is learnt that distributors lost out to the extent of 60% on Agnyaathavaasi.What impact the film could have on Pawan Kalyan's future outings, time alone can tell.
