How can the Congress stem the flow of lower cadre into YSRCP?
According to insiders in the Congress, Rajya Sabha member, K V P Ramachandra Rao, met the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi 15 days back to discuss developments related to A.P. He was reportedly closeted with her for about one and half hours.
During the course of the discussions, KVP is supposed to have made it clear that there are a dozen MPs from the State who are ready to switch over to YSRCP and that many MLAs were planning to follow suit. As for the cadre at grassroots level, he is reported to have told her that there was an upsurge of popular support. Seen against this development, It is clear that K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao's book-launch was yet another occasion intended to stem the flow of Congressmen at the lower levels into the YSRCP.
Some of the Congress worthies used this occasion to set off rumors that the YSRCP was going to be merged with the Congress. Further, realizing that they cannot face the people of A.P. on their own in a general election, they are trying to own up YSR.
Also, since the CBI has not been able to come up with any concrete evidence against Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy, higher-ups in the Congress circles feel that his popularity is bound to soar once he comes out unscathed from the cases foisted on him.
