Honeypreet Admits To Role In Panchkula Violence
Chandigarh: A week after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim's adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan was arrested by the police, she confessed to the police on Wednesday that she was involved in inciting the violence in Panchkula on August 25, the day on which Ram Rahim was convicted by the court.
The violence claimed 38 lives of innocent people and property worth crores of rupees was damaged. Honeypreet is learnt to have admitted that she had prepared the guide maps of the Panchkula town for the riots.
Later, the Dera men were provided with money and were directed to organise the arson across the town and elsewhere in the state. The guide maps and deployment charts have been saved in the Honeypreet's laptop and the lappy is likely to seized by the police.
It may be recalled that the SIT had said that Rs 5 crore was given to his Dera followers to fuel violence in the city and elsewhere in the state. The Haryana police had issued summons to 45 people to appear before the SIT team in connection with the violence.
