Hold talks with striking RTC employees, YS Jagan tells Telugu CMs
YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday asked the chief ministers of both the Telugu states to hold talks with the striking RTC employees and take immediate steps to end the strike.
In an open letter, YS Jagan condemned the police excesses and repression unleashed by the state governments. He wanted the state governments to recognize their role in precipitating the crisis. He extended unstinted support to the striking employees and said that the situation would not have come to such a pass if only the chief ministers kept the promises that they gave to the APSRTC employees.
He reminded that on April 6, 2014, Chandrababu Naidu had promised that he would merge the RTC into the government if he came to power. “Who is promoting the private transporters who are causing losses to the RTC to a tune of Rs 1000 crore” he asked.
He said the RTC would survive if VAT on spare parts and the diesel purchased by the RTC was waived. He called upon the YSRCP cadres to express their solidarity with the striking RTC employees.
