Hitch-hiker steals bike, gets caught
Chevella: In strange incident, a hitch-hiker stole the bike from the man who gave him a lift. The incident occurred in Chevella, police said on Wednesday.
According to CI Upender and SI Rajasekhar, P Yadaiah, an electrician from Aluru village, gave lift to one Yadigiri on December 12. Yadigiri requested him to stop near a bus stop on the way to attend a nature call. He threatened Yadaiah and fled with bike and mobile.
Yadagiri was later taken into custody. The police saw him moving about suspiciously and questioned him. He admitted to the crime and the police recovered the bike.
SI Rajasekhar congratulated constables Baskhar, Shankaraiah and Anantaiah for their efforts in the investigation.
