A video released by Hindi news website Amar Ujala shows the shocking scenes of 24 engineering students being washed away by water that was released by a Hydroelectric power plant in Kullu Valey, Himachal on Sunday. (Himachal tragedy: A painful wait for info)

The video that grabs the horrific sequence of events was taken by a youngster who was standing few miles away from the accident spot. The video also shows how some locals standing on one of the hills nearby, on realising that water has been released from the dam, trying vigorously to warn the students.  (Massive search on to find 19 missing students)

However, students sitting on the rocks in the middle of the river were unable to hear the warning, and soon became victims of the gushing water.
