High drama at CLP office before DL’s arrival

A high drama took place when DL Ravindra Reddy, who was dismissed from the cabinet, came to Congress Legislature Party (CLP) office on Tuesday to address the media conference.

DL was shell-shocked seeing the padlocked CLP office when he came along with Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha. The CLP staff reportedly locked the media room before his arrival. Earlier, Rajanarasimha visited the residence of DL and they had visited the CLP office to address the media conference. He, however, held it in the open standing on the premises. DL is the second minister who denied permission to hold a media conference as Shanka Rao, who had a similar bitter experience after his removal from the cabinet.

Irked by CLP staff behaviour, DL met Speaker Nadendla Manohar and complained to him for denying him holding the media conference. He requested him to allow him to use his rights as a legislator. The Speaker assured him of taking appropriate action against the erring staff after enquiring into the issue.

Later, PCC spokesperson Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy addressed the media conference from the media room. He said the Congress party would not tolerate criticism against it in any form and defended Kiran Kumar Reddy’s administration.   Meanwhile, tension prevailed at the CLP office following the high drama as security personnel were deployed after a tense situation prevailed. DL said he has every right to use his right as a Congress member in the CLP.
