High Court dismisses PIL on State division

The High Court on Tuesday dismissed the public interest litigation (PIL) filed by advocate P V Krishnaiah, challenging the Centre’s decision on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Dismissing the petition, the court made it clear that it could not intervene in the matter, as it does not come under its purview.
Krishnaiah filed the petition requesting the court to  direct the central government not to go further in pursuance of Article 3 of the Constitution for bifurcation of the state. He challenged the decision taken by the Union cabinet on October 3.
