Here’s Why Telangana Teachers Wear Helmet At School

Hyderabad: Taking a cue from Bihar staff who wore helmet at their workplace, back home in Medak district teachers on Wednesday wore helmet as a mark of protest. The incident happened at Zilla Parishad High School of Chinna Shankarampet village after a chunk of roof fell on a staff member.

The building is in dilapidated condition and staff's repeated attempts to get it repaired have only fallen on their deaf ears. Shankarampet Sarpanch, SS Kumar Goud, said," Numerous times local MLA had been approached but failed to keep up their assurances."

The school conducts teaching from class 6 to 10. Headmaster of the school Ramesh said that the school even lacks basic amenities like toilets. He says emphatically that last year they requested for tender during an inspection. But the contractors eventually opted out calling it a small budget. He adds that since three years their plight has been same.
