Helmet Wearing Not Compulsory from Today Itself

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh transport department has made it compulsory to wear helmet by motorists from November 1.

However, the transport minister Sidda Raghavarao said later in the day that wearing helmet is useful for motorists, but not compulsory from Sunday itself as was announced by the officials. It was already notified making helmet wearing compulsory throughout the state and the department started penalizing those violating the rule from Sunday as the Supreme Court has set a deadline for the government to implement the rule.

The minister said the rule will be implemented strictly only after creating awareness among people through wide publicity.
