Helicopter Crashes In Mumbai’s Colony, Joy Ride Passenger Killed, 3 Injured

Mumbai: One person was killed and four others injured in a helicopter crash in the Filter Pada area of Aarey Colony in Mumbai's Goregaon.

The pilot reported a mechanical problem, most probably in the clutch assembly to Air Traffic Control, before the chopper crashed.

The copter caught fire following the crash which was put out by fire fighters who reached the spot immediately, ANI reported.

The helicopter, which had taken off from Juhu airport for a joy ride, is badly damaged. It's a Robinson R44 Astro, and has the registration number VT PHB which is operated by Aman Aviation.

The helicopter was made in 1992. It was originally with Pawan Hans, and was later sold to Aman aviation - which used it for joy rides after repairing it.
