Heavy traffic curbs on for ‘Chalo Assembly’
The city police imposed unprecedented traffic restrictions on account of the 'Chalo Assembly' scheduled on Friday. The restrictions will be in effect from 11 pm from today.
Educational institutions have been declared a holiday in Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad. The police ordered for closure of liquor shops across the city from 6 pm today to 6 am on Saturday. All the MMTS services have been cancelled except for the route of Secunderabad to Lingampally.
In view of ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme the city traffic police have made some diversions for the free flow of traffic to avoid hassles.
City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma ordered the imposition of Section 144 in the city limits from June 13 to 15th.
Entry into main thoroughfares leading to the Assembly has been restricted and barricades have been erected in the road crossings. Narayanaguda, Bhaseer Bhagh, Masab Tank, Khairatabad and Telugu Talli flyovers will be closed from the midnight.
As many as 75 check-posts have been put up in the city to prevent pro-Telangana activists entering the city from different parts of the Telangana region. Police have arranged CC cameras all along the Assembly. All the vehicles proceeding towards Assembly are being diverted at several places.
