Heavy rains lash twin cities

A few hours of incessant rain, brought the city to a screeching halt on Saturday and paralyzed life in downtown Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

The heavy downpour started around 9.30 in the morning, when most office-goers were out on the roads,  and continued for a couple of hours. As a result of the  heavy showers the twin cities experienced, several areas were water logged and bikers and motorists alike had to inch their way through traffic jams
Heavy rains caused water logging in many parts of the city including Kukatpalli, Nizampet and Allwyn roads. In other localities such as Uppal,Mehdipatnam, Jubilee Hills and Nacharam  heavy showers created a panic situation among residents of low-lying areas.
