Headphones Burn Girl’s Ears
In a tragic incident, a teenaged girl died when her headphones melted in her ears after the phone received a surge of electricity.
The excess flow of electricity while charging not only burnt the phone but also melted the headphones in the victim's ear. Luiza Pinheiro of Riacho Frio in Brazil, was using the headphones which were connected to the phone at the time. She was found lying in an unconscious state by her grandmother who rushed the girl to the nearest hospital. Doctors said that the 17-year-old died due to electrocution. However, exactly how she was electrocuted is not yet clear. Doctors found melted earphones in her ears when she was rushed to the hospital. According to her grandmother, " they found her unconscious, lying on the floor and with headphones in her ears."
The accident is the latest to a long list of death due to cellphone. Despite several warnings by the cellphone companies and concerned citizens, people tend to use phone and headphones while they are connected to the charging dock or cable. In unforeseen situations, phones explode injuring or killing the user.
