Have More Children To Reduce Dependency On Robots: AP CM’s Comments Rake Up Controversy
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's comments on family planning have sparked a row when he said that educated couples should show inclination to have more number of kids.
He made these sensational comments during a felicitation programme, commemorating the birth anniversary of former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, held at A1 Convention Centre here in the city on Tuesday.
"Once I used to advocate family planning. But now I am asking people to have more kids, so that our dependency on robots will be decreased," he said. "In the present generation, couples are preferring less number of children as they consider more number of children a burdern. This is particularly evident among the educated couple," he said.
The CM felicitated 131 teachers to mark Teachers' Day. On the occasion, he said that the state government would give priority to education.
