Harish Rao Declares Emergency In Irrigation Dept, Cancels Leaves For Staff

Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao declared an emergency in the irrigation department and cancelled the leaves for its staff directing the officials to report to their duties in the wake of heavy rains battering several parts of Telangana.

The minister further warned of strict action if any official found negligent or irresponsible

“The engineers responsible for monitoring inflows into the water bodies, the structural integrity of dams and bunds and take immediate steps to prevent any breaches to these structures,” minister said.
