Harassed By Lecturer Degree Student Commits Suicide

Bhadradri Kothagudem: A degree student committed suicide by consuming rat poison after being harassed by her lecturer. The incident occurred at Lingalapalli village in Dammapeta mandal in the district.

According to the police, the 19-year-old victim identified as Krishna Priyanka was pursuing B.Com at a private college in Bhadrachalam town. On Saturday, she returned from college and consumed rat poison. She was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she lost her life while undergoing treatment.

"A case has been registered following a complaint from the victim's father Chapa Subbarao and the matter is being investigated," said sub-inspector Praveen. Meanwhile, the family members demanded that a stern action be taken against the lecturer who harassed Priyanka which drove her to suicide.

In another incident, a Class X student B Divya attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide at Madhira in Khammam. According to the police, Divya was dejected after she was caught copying in a class unit test. Insulted over the incident, she came to her house and drank pesiticide. She was rushed to a private hospital in Madhira where her condition is stated to be critical.
