Guntur: A widow caused a flutter here this morning after she climbed up a cell phone tower demanding action against her in-laws who were allegedly harassing her.

Lalitha, who lost her husband a few months ago, continued to stay in her in-laws house. However, her in-laws began harassing her over petty issues, she alleged. The local police too did not heed her pleas and did not acted upon her complaint, she said.

Lalitha's efforts to meet the District Collector, SP and other officials to resolve her issue went in vain. Finally, she approached the Chief Minister's Office in Amaravati seeking justice. She had to run from pillar to post, but no action was initiated, according to her.

On Saturday morning, she climbed up a cell phone tower and threatened to commit suicide if her problems were not resolved. The local police assured her of getting her problems resolved and rescued her.
