Guv Narasimhan meets PM,  Shinde, Antony over Telangana - Sakshi Post


State Governor E S L Narasimhan on Tuesday had a hectic schedule in New Delhi on Tuesday meeting  Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior Union Ministers, giving an indication that the Centre was seriously contemplating for tackling the long-pending Telangana issue.

The Prime Minister was explained on the recent developments in the State over Telangana issue. Narasimhan reportedly told him on the Government’s functioning on the day of ‘Chalo Assembly’ by deploying security personnel to contain the Telangana movement.    

The Governor also met Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and briefed him on the latest developments in the escalating Telangana movement. The discussion is going on at the highest level, Shinde told reporters here when asked whether there was any forward movement on the demand for a separate Telangana. When there is a decision, we will tell you, he said. The Governor briefed the Minister on the situation in the wake of continuous protests by Telangana supporters. 

The Governor briefed me about Andhra Pradesh, he said. Yesterday, two MPs from Andhra Pradesh, who are supporters of united Andhra Pradesh, were sworn in as Union Ministers. Twenty two legislators belonging to TRS and BJP, along with two independent MLAs associated with them, were yesterday suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for two days for constantly disrupting proceedings of the House on Telangana statehood issue. 

Meanwhile, Governor Narasimhan also called on Union Minister for Defence A K Antony and explained him the prevailing situation in the state after the ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme. The TJAC called for another Sakala Janula Samme shortly for prolonged T movement.
