Gutsy girl tells how Medak bus mishap happened
Bhikshapathi Goud, the driver of the ill-fated school bus has taken a short-cut and had cut short the lives of several innocent children. He was not a regular driver and was inexperienced.
According to eight-year-old Ruchita Goud, who saved the life of two friends by pushing them out of the bus window, but got injured in the process, the regular driver was on leave to celebrate his wedding anniversary. "Regular driver uncle has not come that day. He was celebrating his wedding anniversary," says the the brave child who recovering well at the Yashoda hospital.
Speaking to Sakshipost, she said that she was sitting in third row and had clearly seen the fast-approaching train. The hired driver, who was busy on the phone, applied the brakes, but it was too late and the bus went on to the train tracks. "When I screamed, the driver uncle did not hear me. He was was talking on his mobile phone," she says.
She saved the lives of her friend and tried to push her brother through the window. But she could not push him and he too is in a critical condition now.
The brave girl was playing games on a mobile phone when Sakshipost met her and was seen asking the doctors about when she would be discharged.
According to her uncle, she had undergone surgery two years ago as she had a hole in her heart. She recovered well and had not shown any fear.
